About Us

Adventures In Healing offers services through Spirit Brush Arts, a business created in 1994 by Donna Fado Ivery and her husband. Donna Ivery suffered a traumatic brain injury while vacationing with family. The injury left her in the position of being unable continue her work as a United Methodist Minister. In her quest for healing and meaning, Donna discovered art and writing as mediums through which she could give expression to the pain and also find healing. Through her own struggles she has gained many insights about living with pain and spiritual transformation. While brain injury impaired her speech and concentration, Donna learned to express herself and experience healing through painting. Now, ten years later, she speaks , teaches, writes, leads workshops and retreats across the United States on healing pain through art and spirituality. She continues contributing to the healing and the healing of others through creating art.
